Karen Carlisi - End of Life Doula
Sitting with you at an uncertain time to help you make end-of-life preparations with awareness and a sense of peace.
Holding Space at the End of Life
Light must come from inside. You cannot ask the darkness to leave; you must turn on the light.-Sogyal Rinpoche
I am an End-of-Life doula trained by INELDA (the International End of Life Doula Association). I offer compassionate guidance for the dying and their loved ones, intuitively responding as needed. Through my previous experience, I have learned that dying is a sacred path we walk as part of our life path. With open communication and preparation for this final chapter, there is a greater possibility to die in a space of peace. Walking side by side with the dying, I want to listen deeply, offer guidance and help you discover the closure you seek.
About Me
I come to my Doula work following 40 years as an educator, cross-cultural trainer, author, writing coach, and meditation coach. I have studied and embraced multiple spiritual and cultural traditions and I am prepared to honor the practices and rituals of those I serve.
As a member of Threshold Choir, I provide comfort singing to the terminally ill and dying, and I offer guided imagery, rituals and legacy projects as part of my service. As a published author and writing coach, I also specialize in memoir writing for those who are consciously nearing their closing chapters with a desire to tell their stories.
Outside of my Doula work, I enjoy hiking and swimming, quality time with family, gardening, travel and learning languages.
