About
A Calling to Serve at Life’s Threshold
My name is Karen Carlisi
I am an End-of-Life Doula trained by INELDA (the International End of Life Doula Association) and a founding member of the Pacific Death Doula Collaborative. With a background in education, cultural studies, writing, and meditation, my work is rooted in deep listening, compassionate guidance, and honoring diverse traditions and beliefs.

When I am not supporting others, I find joy in hiking, swimming, gardening, and traveling, always eager to learn and connect with the world around me.

Dying is not just an end; it's a sacred passage.
I walk beside those on this journey, offering presence, reassurance, and practical support to bring peace and closure.
Community
In addition to my doula work, I am a member of the Threshold Choir, offering comfort through singing to those nearing the end of life. As a member of the PDDC, I also offer live and virtual events such as the Child Loss Support Group and the Persephone Passage to Spring.
